Guidelines for presentations

Important! Guidelines for Oral and Poster Presentations

Slide projectors, overhead projectors and equipment for computer-aided PowerPoint presentations will be accessible in each lecture room. For any additional equipment needed, please send the request to lewinski@chemia.uj.edu.pl

Posters will be hung on panels 95 cm wide and 150 cm high, so that the format 841x1189 (A0) can be used for poster printing. The posters should be readable from a distance of 2 meters. In the top left corner each poster will carry an identification number assigned by the organisers.

Submission methods

Authors are encouraged to use MS Word 97 for Windows for their abstract. The abstract should be submitted as an attachment via e-mail to:

abstract@chemia.uj.edu.pl

An RTF (Rich Text Format) file format is also acceptable.

Abstract submission instructions

The details of the abstract submission instructions are given on the next page as a typical abstract layout. An abstract template for MS Word 97 can be downloaded from here

The paper size should be A4 (21.0 x 29.7 cm). The upper margin should be 2.5 cm and the bottom margin 1.5 cm. The entire abstract, including title, authors and their addresses, text, footnotes and references must fit into a rectangle 8 cm wide by 25.7 cm high. The font for the entire abstract should be 10 points size Times New Roman or equivalent (i.e. Times, Times Roman) and single-spaced. Title should be typed in bold characters. Authors' names and institutions should follow immediately the title. Authors' names should be in plain text, with initials and last names (i.e. A. Author1, B. C. Author2). Addresses should be typed in italic. A maximum of three keywords should be given.

A blank line should follow the paragraph containing title, authors and addresses. The body of the abstract should be in plain text. Figures and photographs should be avoided. If a figure is necessary in the abstract, there will be only one allowed. The total length (text and figure) of the abstract must not exceed 25.7 cm. The figure or photograph should also be sent electronically (e.g. a JPEG file). Equations: in MS Word 97, authors are encouraged to use the field options of MS Word to enter them, rather than using the equation editor.

References are numbered sequentially as they appear in the text. When cited in the text, reference numbers are superscript rather than in brackets. They should be typed at the bottom of the abstract, number in brackets; font size should be 8 points like this one1.
